Migraine" is the term applied to recurrent sever headache affecting only one side of the head and caused by changes in the blood vessels. They may accompanied by nausea and vomiting and preceded by warning signs, usually flashing lights or numbness and tingling in the arms.

The exact cause of migraine is unknown, but an attack triggered by emotional factors including excitement, tension, shock, physical exertion, a blow to the head, some foods, and some drugs.
