Rheumatism is a disease of the blood caused by a secretion called uric acid.
This acid is a deadly poison of a corrosive nature.
Its presence in the blood is due to the inability of the kidneys through disease, to throw such waste matter from the system.
It is carried by the blood in its course through the body and settles in the joint, where the inflammation takes place. This inflammation is what causes the awful torture to which the poor rheumatic is subjected.
The first step to be taken in affording releif and effecting a complete cure is to dissolve the uric acid, remove it from the blood, and to regulate the functions of the urinary systems.
